The Vernacularist: The Environmental Issue, published by The Depot Art Gallery, includes an article The Story of the Whare in the Bush, by Elisapeta Heta, on the recent project and gallery installation by a collective of architectural graduates.

"Four women who had recently graduated from architecture school; Ruby Watson, Raukura Turei, Rebecca Green and myself, built the foundations of The Whare in the Bush project. Along the way, we discovered that collaboration is a gamble and architecture is not just about windows and doors. We also learnet that our collaborative capabilities combined with a dash of community generosity, naivety, intigue, ambition, and laughter are what enabled us to realise our own whare in the bush."  E.Heta, Laying The Foundations, Gentle Foundations, St Pauls St Gallery & A+W•NZ, pg 67

For more information on the gallery installation and publication, both called Gentle Foundations, see our other article listing.
